About Us

I place great emphasis upon a strong therapeutic relationship between myself and my clients as the main basis of sessions together. Trust, honesty and congruence being the fundamental components. I draw on over 20 years of experience working with adults and children in a wide variety of settings. These range from NHS hospitals and hospices to secondary schools and dance academies. I feel I can offer you a nurturing safe space that can allow you to process your inner thoughts and make sense of feelings and emotions that often arise whilst navigating life.

I work with children and adults covering many areas such as low self esteem, social anxiety and depression. I work with teenagers and parents to process behavioural issues that can often arise as children themselves navigate life's rollercoaster. This can include social difficulties, parental conflict and family diversity including seperation and divorce. I am also experienced in working with relationship breakdowns, bereavement and loss. I work with a range of emotions that often culminate in people feeling stuck within themselves or a particular situation.

Working from an integrative model means that I draw on many theoretical modalities to support you. I work within this integrative model drawing on TA, CBT, mindfulness and psychotherapeutic modalaties throughout therapy. These are all ways of working that we can explore together and agree on before moving forward within therapy, revisiting as we work.

Being presented with the right tools at the right time can often facilitate a move forward or a shift in perception. This shift can be monumental and help shine a light on areas where you may feel stuck. This in turn can create a deeper self awareness or sense of  self which can prompt powerful change. Simply being heard can often be a powerful tool within the therapy room.

Working within a comfortable holistic non clinical setting I also use creative therapy if appropriate and agreed upon. I do challenge my clients where and when appropriate in order to support you in facilitating growth and change. But equally I am sensative to my clients needs and have a deep sense of empathy when working.

I am also trained to work with co parents in conflict and have done this for a number of years supporting solicitors and CAFCAS in children's work. I can also support parents in learning how to better communicate once separated in order to keep  children at the centre.

TRAINING, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Hello my name is Becky and I started out as a children's nanny over 30 years ago before having my own children who are now adults. I then went on to train clinically in complementary and neuromuscular therapy 20 years ago. Knowing the body as well as understanding the mind has always been an important and integral part of my practice and work. After this I moved into teaching therapies and then onto my counselling journey.

More recently training as a supervisor to support other counsellors on their own journey. I am the founder of Willow Therapy which I set up to offer counselling support to a community and its surrounding areas. I also manage my team of experienced counsellors to provide a high standard of support taking GP referrals as well as supporting schools and services.

I have extensive experience working within hospice settings with terminal illness and NHS settings with life limiting illness. I also have experience working in secondary schools with a broad age range of children. I added family counselling to my training kit along with couples and parenting support. This allowed me to work with families, adults, teenagers and young children.

I work on a one to one basis, I also offer parent and child sessions, family group work, and work one to one with a wide range of ages to support individuals and the family.
