ABOUT ME

My name is Nat and I have been tutoring for over 5 years. I am currently the subject leader of Drama at a grammar school in Buckinghamshire, heading a department. I am passionate about working with young people and firmly believe in supporting students who struggle with an array of mental health issues as well as those who are neurodivergent.

I started my teaching career as a teaching assistant for the Special Educational Needs department. I worked with a number of students and studied many courses on ADHD and Autism. This work, training, and experience have helped me in my current teaching role. It allowed me to gain a greater understanding of how I can help neurodiverse students within my classroom. I myself have ADHD and am aware of how hard it can be to learn, and the struggles students may face whilst navigating ADHD.

Before embarking on my teaching career, I went to Drama school in London where I received a first-class honours Degree in acting. After my year of being a teaching assistant, I went back to university to do my PGCE, which allowed me to follow my career into teaching.

I am a firm believer that education should be fun yet informative so that students enjoy their time at school. I have worked with a number of students offering private tutoring.
I tutor Drama and Theatre studies along with English.

I have also tutored a number of neurodiverse students who have not yet reached GCSE or A levels. Here, I focus on giving these students strategies to use in the classroom or when completing their homework. I also work closely with students whilst tutoring, to support them with how to complete their homework. We work collaboratively whilst I foster the role of encourager to show that they CAN DO IT, whilst keeping a focus on inclusivity and fun.

I hold a current and up to date Enhanced DBS and my current up to date qualifications are:

  • BA Hons in acting with a First

  • PGCE from Middlesex University

hold numerous safeguarding CPD in accordance with the schools' guidelines for teaching and update this monthly. I am happy to provide a list of these on request.
