ABOUT ME

I am currently a Level 4 trainee counsellor, in my final year, working towards becoming a qualified integrative counsellor. I am a parent to two young adults. My background is in finance, which, although may feel a long way from counselling, it was always the people I supported that really held my interest. I have lived experience of ADHD and ASD.
I am aware of how challenging it could feel making the decision to enter into therapy. Recognising that it could be beneficial, and how reaching out to find the right therapist can feel daunting. It may be the first time you have ever shared your most inner thoughts and true self with someone, I recognise that this takes great courage.
Trust and relationship are key to enabling you to fully explore your inner world. This authentic relationship with my clients is at the core of my practice. Together we will create a space, where trust can be built upon, to enable you to grow. I will always bring myself to you congruently, with gentle empathic understanding. I will listen carefully to your experiences of your world. I encourage you to explore whatever it is you choose to bring into the session. I hold a confidential space which is judgement free and dedicated to your story and your needs.
I understand you may not have the words to express how you truly feel inside. For some it can be learning to understand a neurodivergent way of processing.
It may be a need to fully understand yourself and find new ways to express feelings. In some cases, it can be too painful to speak words aloud, or it could be difficult to find the right words that you want to use.
Whilst I am here to listen with warmth and compassion, there are also many other effective ways to communicate within the room. I believe that creative resources can deeply aid the exploration of self, which can feel less intrusive than language itself. As humans, we are never not communicating; much can be expressed without the spoken word.
I am a registered student member of BACP and have a fully enhanced DBS, along with indemnity insurance to practice. I am continually learning within my Diploma in counselling and experientially alongside my clients. I have accrued over 140 client hours in my current placement within The Sadie Centre in Letchworth working with adults.
